Paz Castellano (Santiago, Chile, 1993) is an artist and architect currently based in Berlin.

Her practice develops methods for revealing the traces of movement through visual language, combining artistic research, architecture, systems of notation, and color theory to construct visual maps of movement. Her research draws from real systems of movement, ranging from chess and animal behavior to dance, and is currently expanding toward sensory mapping. Each body of work follows a methodology of observation, analysis, and graphic translation.

One of the most developed bodies of work within this research focuses on chess. Originating from her own experience as an active player, the series began as a personal study and evolved into an ongoing investigation. Working directly from the algebraic notation of historically significant games, Castellano translates each move into geometric structures, using an evolving study of color theory to reveal rhythm, spatial relationships, and strategic patterns. The resulting works function simultaneously as analytical diagrams and autonomous visual compositions.

Castellano is co-founder of GIT, an independent art gallery founded in Santiago, Chile, in 2018, where she worked as a curator for several years.

Her work has been exhibited internationally, including in Chile, the United States, Germany, Italy, China and Romania.
